Self Defense for Teens

In today’s society, violence is an unfortunate reality that affects children of all economic backgrounds. Research has shown that violent offenders are becoming younger, increasing the likelihood that your teenager may be faced with a violent situation. Teenagers are particularly vulnerable due to their rebellious nature, increased drive toward independence, and perception of invulnerability. In addition to these factors, bullying, drugs, and crime in schools can leave your child in a heightened state of vulnerability.

Youth violence encompasses a range of behaviors, from verbal abuse and physical assault to robbery, rape, and even murder. In fact, a recent study revealed that approximately 16 people aged 10-24 are murdered every day. While law enforcement, teachers, and school administrators work diligently to prevent and respond to violence, they cannot be everywhere at once.

That’s why it’s essential for your child to have a basic skill set to detect danger and know how to respond appropriately. Our Institute offers a specialized course in youth self-defense that teaches children how to avoid, escape, survive, and communicate during dangerous situations. By providing your child with the tools and knowledge they need to protect themselves, you can help ensure their safety and peace of mind.
